Body-Connected Breathwork Certification
A facilitator training that is:
grounded in science, guided by intuition, and adaptable for all people.
Breathwork Facilitator Training
March 9th — July 9th, 2025
Tuition is $3000
The group will be limited to 10 students to allow for a more intimate container and deeper connection.
Breathwork has been a practice for thousands of years and used by communities of people around the globe. With the rise of trauma-informed awareness, we are seeing a significant expansion of this practice. This increase is being compared to that of yoga just a few decades ago and the need for breathwork facilitators is in high demand.
With the many modalities that are being created and marketed to serve this growing need and without a governing agency for accountability, there are a few common trends surfacing in many of the certification courses…
Trainings that do not teach or take the time to experience what it truly means to be trauma-informed.
Trainings that have been created from a masculine only (left-brain) perspective, much like Western Medicine.
Trainings on breath modalities that exclude special populations due to physical and mental health conditions, people with disability, age, menstruation, pregnancy, etc.
Having personally experienced all of these trends and seeing the need for a different way, we desired to create Body-Connected Breathwork. This breathwork modality has been created from the available science on the body and breath, but it also allows for the facilitator to connect with their inner wisdom/intuition in order to facilitate sessions that are specific for the individual(s) that they are serving.
Instead of giving our facilitators a script to follow and a “one way fits all” approach, we have carefully crafted “ingredients” that are possible in a session from which facilitators choose in creating their own breathwork “recipe”.
This not only creates safety and support for the client, but empowers the facilitator to stay connected to their mind, body, and intuition/higher self.
The first 12 weeks of our training includes the foundations of trauma, what it means to be trauma-informed, and a journey to experience your own healing through a trauma-informed perspective. This invites authenticity and integrity to our facilitators experience that they are then able to extend to their future clients.
We believe that providing an authentic trauma-informed curriculum sets BREATH AND BODY SCHOOL apart from others. If you feel that this is in alignment with your values and perspectives, we’d love to have you join us!

Body-Connected
Breathwork
Breathwork is a general term used for a variety of breath exercises, techniques, and experiences that have been used for different purposes by teachers, shamans, and facilitators throughout time.
Body-Connected Breathwork is a unique type of breathwork taught at Breath and Body School that allows for the facilitator to tailor the experience for their clients, allowing for a deeper connection to their body and breath.
What can I expect from the Body-Connected Certification Course?
The first part of the training starts with a journey into holding space for yourself and experiencing what it means to embody a trauma-informed perspective for yourself so that you can authentically offer this for those you serve. We then move into the foundations of the body, brain/nervous system, the breath, and serving populations that require modifications.
The last part of the course provides training in the methodology of Body-Connected Breathwork, the logistics of preparing and leading sessions, business practices, and practicum experiences with peers and personal clients.
Near the end of the training, we will have two in-person intensive weekends together. One will be in SLC and the other will be a weekend wellness retreat. The retreat location will be within driving distance from Salt Lake City.
*These in-person retreat experiences are not required in order to receive your certification, but they are of significant value and you are highly encourage to attend.
Throughout the 20 weeks you will have assignments for personal introspection and self awareness, as well as receive group support. In addition, you will have opportunities to practice with peer partners and truly begin to integrate all that you are learning.
Live Zoom group calls will occur on Wednesdays from 7:30 — 9:30pm MST . Because we believe that the deepest level of learning is through being live within a group experience, we expect attendance at all of the calls unless previous arrangements have been made. They will however be recorded and uploaded to your private YouTube Playlist if you encounter a rare circumstance that you are unable to attend.
Wednesdays will be primarily for lectures/discussions, Q&A, connection, and reflection. While Saturdays will be for experiencing Breathwork and other somatic practices.
You will be assigned a combination of readings, watching videos, writing exercises, somatic practices, and connecting with peer partners that will require no more than 1-2 hours of your time each week.
You will receive 40% off 1:1 session with Trish Leichty for additional support throughout the training.
